The Charism Awards
At the Centennial Gala, R-K will be honoring women who have gone “above and beyond” in living the R-K mission.
Please join the R-K community in congratulating our recipients!
CARITAS: Nominees have lived lives of service to others with a commitment to family and faith.
- 1944 - Jane Feld Hart, for her service to her family (8 kids, 20 grandkids) and 55 years (and counting) at St. Roch parish.
- 1951 - Sr. Louise Marie Benecke, SSND for her work in holistic healthcare and our multi-cultural world community.
VIRTUS: Nominees are women with "strength of soul" in living and working to serve one another.
- 1965 - Sr. Barbara Jennings, CSJ for her parish leadership both in inner city and rural parishes and a lifelong commitment to social justice (both corporate and environmental).
- 1962 - Maureen Doyle DiSalvio for her work with the Christian Appalachian Project, Habitat for Humanity, and serving on the Ethics and Research Committee at Missouri Baptist Hospital.
HUMILITAS: Nominees have a lifelong reputation for exhibiting humble hospitality and serving the "dear neighbor" with faith and compassion.
- 1948 - LaVergne Fangmeier Weingartner, an RN who later provided long-term, in-home care for family members during illnesses; credits R-K with shaping her worldview and commitment to service.
- 1969 - Marianne Haberstroh, for her commitment to young women in education, and the Footprints Program at Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center.
SCIENTIA: Commitments to both individual academic achievement and a commitment to the educational community.
- 1974 - Dr. Rosemarie Zagarri, for her study of women within history and commitment to academia.
- 1982 - Dr. Susan Colbert Threats, for her work as a physician and healthcare provider.
