  Washington University 2013 Summer Experiences for High School Students  2013 Summer Scholars Program  (5 weeks, credit)/ High School Summer Institutes (2-3 weeks,  noncredit).  Experience Washington University the summer after your sophomore, junior, or senior year! Mizzou Precollege Program Better than summer school.  Mizzou academics give you the chance to learn about music, engineering, journalism, the world of business, your creative side, and more.  For more infomation visit: precollege.missouri.edu. Truman State University S.T.A.P.H. (Summer Talent Academy for Professions in Health) July 14-21, 2012 You must be nominated by your guidance counselor and have completed 10th or 11th grade at the conclusion of the 2012-2013 school year and currently carry at 3.25 cumulative GPA and a 3.5 GPA in basic science courses.  This academy is designed to educate students about careers in health care and to provide a jump-start to a future in medicine, nursing, and allied health professions.  This year's theme will focus on the challenging task of crisis response.  See your science teacher or guidance counselor for details.  The selection of the S.T.A.P.H. scholars involves two steps with specified deadlines.  Nomination due January 14, 2013 and Application due March 1, 2013.  UMSL Bridge Summer Academy June 17-July 12, 2013 The Summer Academy is held from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for students grade 9th and 10th.  The Academy offers academic enrichment courses in mathematics; science; written and oral communication; career research; personal and professional development; and college planning.  Applications are available at www.umsl.edu/precollegiate. Rhode Island School of Design June 22-August 3, 2013 Six week preparation for college/art school/portfolio--to learn more visit www.risd.edu/precollege. Murray State University Commonwealth Honors Academy June 8-29, 2013 Murray State offers three weeks of academic and enrichment experience, six hours of tuition-free credit, tuition free university courses during your senior year in high school (three hours in the fall and spring), guaranteed four-year housing scholarship, meet and work with other honors students, and no cost to students except transportation to and from campus and spending money.  This academy is for Juniors with a 3.5 GPA and 25 ACT.  To learn more visit www.murraystate.edu/cha or call 270-809-3166. Murray State University Cyber Cave The mission of this camp is to expose high school students to computer and networking technologies through hands-on, interactive activities.  During Cyber Cave Academy, students are introduced to the college atmosphere through residential housing, campus dining, and other on-campus functions.  Applications are available at www.murraystate.edu/tsm/cybercave.  Applications will be accepted online and in the mail, February 1 - May 1.  Scholarships are available.  For more information, call Amber Harris at 1-270-809-3987 or see Mrs. Ginger in Guidance.
