About the Rosati-Kain Alumnae AssociationAlumnae

Rosati-Kain has always strived to be its best, accomplishing many major achievements over the past 95 years. These accomplishments are, in part, due to the active Alumnae Association. Founded in 1915, the Alumnae Association formed under Ethel Wurdock '15 to honor the alumnae of the school and start programs that would continue the school's excellence for future students. With two prominent alumnae presidents in the Association's early years, Frances McKenna Harrington '17 and Helen Jolley Kelly '19, the Association continued to grow. The Association successfully completed capital campaigns, including raising funds for the gymnasium in 1941 and the renovation of the library, dedicated to Kelly, in 1989.

In 1965, the Alumnae Association marked its fiftieth anniversary with a mass celebrated by Cardinal Joseph Ritter at the Cathedral Basilica. Honoring the class of 1915, the first class to celebrate its fiftieth reunion, the Cardinal joined the alumnae for their jubilee celebration at the school.

The Alumnae Association has always focused on ensuring the future of Rosati-Kain's young students. This included the establishment of scholarships to aid students in the cost of education at Rosati. In 1973, the first Alumnae Association Scholarship was started in honor of Frances McKenna Harrington. Currently offering 11 named scholarships, the renewable scholarships are awarded to enthusiastic, deserving students who show spirit, leadership and citizenship in their freshmen year.

The current Alumnae Association, led by president Sharon Sanders '63, meets three times a year to promote the mission of the Alumnae Association and celebrate the students at Rosati-Kain High School. The Association encourages all alumnae to participate in the alumnae events including the Alumnae Association meetings, Trivia Night, Alumnae Night at the Play, and the Alumnae Mass and Brunch.

Always encouraging young women to become their best selves, Rosati-Kain has grown as the only Archdiocesan, college-preparatory, all-girls Catholic high school in the St. Louis area. Today, more than 400 students are challenged daily in academics and faith. With academia, dozens of clubs and numerous activities, each student can find a place where she truly belongs, and each alumna can carry her experiences with her into the future.
