All participants are encouraged to keep in mind that the goal of the mock trial program is not to win for the sake of winning, but to learn and understand the meaning of good citizenship in a democracy through the participation in our law and justice system. Currently, Rosati-Kain sponsors two teams who compete in the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis' Annual Mock Trial Competition. Teams participate in this competition by trying a fictitious case against other teams.

Students may enter categories including story-telling, extemporaneous speaking, prose or poetry reading, radio broadcasting, original oratory, and duet acting. Students are chosen for the team through audition, and are expected to memorize their selections, meet with peer coaches, and attend a general team meeting once a week.
