FAQs

1. How do I get in?

Rosati-Kain's admission policy is based on how the applicant performs in 6th, 7th and 8th grades. You should be at 70% or above on standardized tests, receive A's and B's, and have a good attendance record. For more information, see the Admissions page. Applications for 8th graders in Archdiocesan Catholic schools will be distributed by their principals. Students who are enrolled in non-Catholic elementary schools may request an application from R-K.

2. Who will be teaching me?

The young women at Rosati have a dedicated faculty and staff of religious women, lay women and men, and an Archdiocesan priest. 78 percent of the faculty have advanced degrees.

3. Can I get a scholarship?

26% of Rosati-Kain students receive scholarships or financial aid. Scholarships are awarded for academics and citizenship. Eleven students from each class receive a renewable Alumnae Scholarship. These students are chosen from nominations made by their teachers after the first semester of freshman year.

Financial aid is available once a student has been accepted to R-K. Grants are in the $200 - $800 range. Applications for financial aid are available at freshman registration.

4. Where do R-K students live?

R-K is the most geographically diverse high school in St. Louis, without serving one specific area. Rosati girls come from all over the St. Louis area, including 64 different zip codes, 88 different parishes, and 114 different grade schools. These students usually travel by carpool, or in some cases, MetroLink. R-K students live in North, South and West St. Louis County, as well as all of St. Louis City, Jefferson County, St. Charles County and Illinois.

5. What does it mean to be a Catholic school?

Rosati-Kain students are part of a larger Christian community. The students are not just smart and sophisticated, they are also spiritual. Monthly liturgies, Days of Reconciliation and Kairos Retreats are just a few of the spiritual activities that help students deepen their faith.

At R-K, we place an emphasis on Peer Ministry, meaning that students guide each other in faith. Upperclassmen lead the underclassmen at prayer days and retreats. This helps all students grow in faith together in a supportive environment.

6. How much does R-K cost?

Rosati-Kain has the lowest tuition rate of any other all-female Catholic high school in the entire St. Louis metropolitan area. Tuition is generally kept about $1,500 less than what it actually costs to educate an R-K student.

We are able to keep this number so affordable because we have the support of the Alumnae Association, our Annual Fund Appeal, parent fundraisers and the Archdiocesan Annual Catholic Appeal.

For more information, see the Tuition and Financial Aid page.

Tuition for the 07-08 school year is $6,750. Please note that this figure includes all books and workbooks. Families not belonging to a St. Louis Archdiocesan parish pay $300 more each year than families from parishes to make up for the contribution that the parishes make to the ACA.

7. Do I have to be Catholic to attend Rosati-Kain?

Students of all faiths are invited to attend Rosati-Kain. Religion is not a factor in determining acceptance. However, since we are a Catholic, Archdiocesan high school, all students are required to take Catholic Theology classes, regardless of their religious affiliation.

8. I'm already in high school. Can I transfer to Rosati-Kain?

Please see our Transfer Students page for information.
